01 / The Challenge

The Challenge

As part of the Live to the Beat campaign, we needed to reach Black adults ages 35–54 with content about heart health, including complex topics like sodium, blood pressure, and cholesterol. The challenge was making those ideas approachable, culturally relevant, and useful in everyday life.

02 / The Shift

The Shift We Made

We created a series of 16 animated PSAs that broke large cardiovascular concepts into simple, relatable moments, giving people manageable ways to care for their hearts.

03 / The Work

How We Did It

I led every creative stage and personally animated the series to keep the work closely aligned with the campaign’s vision:

  • Directed storyboarding, illustration, animation, and sound design
  • Turned cardiovascular science into plain-language visuals using recognizable metaphors and everyday scenarios
  • Designed environments and characters reflecting real-life settings and culturally specific styles
  • Produced audio-described versions to broaden accessibility

04 / What Happened Next

What Happened Next

Videos garnered over 4 million combined YouTube views
Used by educators and local health advocates to support heart-disease prevention
Extended the campaign’s storytelling into motion in ways static pieces could not

05 / Why It Mattered

Why It Mattered

These weren’t simply explainer videos. Each gave people one clear, manageable way to think differently about heart health.

The story is already there.
Let’s tell it well.
