01 / The Challenge

The Challenge

How do you translate 135 years of racial justice and gender equity work into a virtual event that feels personal, celebratory, and urgent, in the middle of a pandemic?

02 / The Shift

The Shift We Made

We reimagined a traditional gala as a digital-first experience that honored the YWCA’s legacy while energizing new supporters. We built a unified campaign system that made equity-focused storytelling the emotional and visual center of the event and extended seamlessly across formats.

03 / The Work

How We Did It

I led strategy and fully designed all print, digital, and motion graphics for the event:

  • Designed a modular brand system that connected multiple YWCA initiatives under one cohesive message and could scale to other events
  • Developed digital-forward assets including event microsite graphics, motion promos, and sponsor packages, all optimized for accessibility and inclusive visual representation
  • Created a print-on-demand fundraising kit for donor networks and affiliate chapters, making it easy to localize and personalize outreach
  • Directed messaging and layout choices to spotlight domestic violence prevention, racial justice, and women’s economic empowerment
  • Partnered closely with development and events teams to make sure every asset was not only emotionally resonant, but also donor-ready and technically seamless

What Happened Next

Strengthened community engagement despite pandemic limitations
Unified event storytelling under a single creative voice that could carry across campaigns
Materials were reused and adapted for YWCA’s Stand Against Racism and MLK Day initiatives, extending impact well beyond the gala

05 / Why It Mattered

Why It Mattered

In a year where many events went quiet, this one sparked renewed energy and gave YWCA’s mission a clear, compelling visual voice that lived far beyond a single night.

The story is already there.
Let’s tell it well.
